Shot this buck just before dark on October 19th (opening day of the first muzzleloader season). Didn’t find any blood trail, so I opted to come back the next morning and continue the search. With a muzz you can’t see following the shot due to the smoke it produces, its hard to tell exactly were you hit the deer.
I found the deer only 50 yards off the field, but the coyotes had found it first. It’s always a difficult decision to leave a deer and come back the next day. Not a good plan on this hunt.
